Among Us is the game that keeps on giving as the social deduction title continues to be downloaded an insane amount. It's hard to believe InnerSloth's pint-sized murder mystery first came out in 2018, or that some two years after its release, Among Us is continuing to grow. After scooping awards, adding new levels, and taking over Twitch, the game has ticked another off its bucket list with over 50 million mobile downloads in November 2020.

While most of us play Among Us on PC to get the full experience, there's clearly a lot of us that take the title on the move on iOS and Android. Although there are calls for it to be made available on Xbox and PlayStation, we're currently limited to just a handful of ways to play. Still, there's no escaping the popularity of Among Us as more and more of us seem destined to download it on mobile.

Among Us Mobile: How popular is it?

According to Sensor TowerAmong Us has once again topped the Apple and Android charts. It was the most downloaded game of November 2020 with 53.2 million downloads. Putting this into context, that's fifty times more than its downloads in November 2019. Looking at where Among Us is most popular, 15.8% of downloads came from the USA, while 95 came from Brazil. Thanks to some of the biggest streamers out there playing Among Us, this might explain its largely American following.

It's an impressive figure to behold, however, does this mark the beginning of the end? Sensor Tower previously reported that the Among Us mobile downloads for October were 74.8 million, meaning it's a massive drop month-to-month. Still, InnerSloth is likely happy with its placement as the game sits firmly at the top of the charts.

Among Us mobile: Will anything top it?

Looking at the other big hitters for last month, Voodoo's Shortcut Run came second but trailed far behind Among Us with 35.2 million installs. The top five was rounded off by Join Clash 3DGarena Free Fire, and Subway Surfers. It's interesting to note that Garena Free Fire, in particular, is an up-and-coming game. YouTube recently revealed its most-watched games of the year, with Garena Free Fire coming in third place behind Minecraft and Roblox

For the time being, Among Us is streaks ahead of the competition. We might see a spike in downloads due to its recent success and winning two awards at this year's Game Awards. As well as taking home the trophy for Best Multiplayer Game, it also snatched the crown as Best Mobile Game. As for what the future holds, expect to see another jump in downloads when the newly announced Airship map lands in "early 2021".

With the last big update introducing the Polus map in November 2019, we've been crying out for new content. Now that devs have scrapped their plans for Among Us 2 and promised to refocus their efforts on the OG game, it'll be exciting to see what else they have up their sleeves. For the time being, Among Us is sitting pretty as the most-downloaded mobile game each month. The big question is, how much longer can it continue this whirlwind story of success?
