They say that on Twitch, no one can hear you scream, but is it really true? For those who are regulars of the horror video game scene, you'll undoubtedly have heard of Alien: Isolation. After we were left reeling from the underwhelming Aliens: Colonial Marines - and long before Aliens: Fireteam EliteAlien: Isolation was bringing Ridley Scott's acid-bleeding b*stards to life in a terrifying way.

Released in 2014, many argue that Alien: Isolation kick-started our current obsession with survival horrors. Taking place in the official canon of the movies, Isolation is set in the year 2137, which is 15 years after Ellen Ripley first met the Facehuggers. Here, you take control of her daughter (Amanda) and are stalked through a doomed space station by the titular Xenomorph.

Basically, Alien: Isolation is pretty damn great. Amanda is equipped with only a handful of weapons, while the fact the Xeno is unkillable means you're going to die A LOT. If you've never played Alien: Isolation before, now you can get it for free via Amazon/Twitch.

How can you get Alien: Isolation for free?

A bit like Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, Prime Gaming offers you a monthly crop of free games and goodies. The best thing is that it's included with your Amazon Prime membership - which we're sure most of you already have. To claim your free copy of Alien: Isolation simply make sure your Twitch account is linked to your Prime Gaming account, and voilà, off into the depths of space you go.

Alien: Isolation was a hit on release, and was praised for bringing the scariest aspects of Scott's 1979 Alien into the medium of video games. A content roadmap even added famous characters like Ellen Ripley alongside the story of the Nostromo, so it's no surprise there was a narrative sequel in Alien: Blackout.

Players have been calling for a true sequel, and with a renewed interest in Isolation, we're hoping Creative Assembly will finally return. Be warned though, Alien: Isolation is not one for the faint-hearted. Either way, it's well-timed for the seven-year anniversary of the game.

What else is coming with October's Prime Gaming?

Alien: Isolation is all well and good, but did you know, you can also get a free copy of Star Wars: Squadrons and Ghostrunner. If that wasn't enough, Apex Legends players can enjoy the Electric Royalty Bundle - with an epic Wattson skin.

The recent hype surrounding Amazon's New World also means its getting its own time to shine in October. Those who hop in with Prime Gaming should make the most of the New World Pirate Pack, which is complete with Pirate Apparel, the Pirate Stance Emote, and 5K Marks of Fortune. Call of Duty gamers will get the Bogged Down Bundle, World Series of Warzone Summer 2021 Bundle, and World Series of Warzone Bundle.

The list goes on, with Genshin Impact players nabbing 1x Fragile Resin, 4x Mystic Enhancement Ore, and 40,000 Mora. Finally, Rainbow Six Siege is getting a Collab Drop – Fragment to help Ubisoft’s tactical shooter. Phew, happy now? It's a bumper month for Prime Gaming, but come on, we know you're here for Alien: Isolation
