Remedy Games have produced some absolute winners over the years, haven't they? their most recent offering, Control, is a mind-bending twister of a game, giving the player plenty of supernatural abilities and a kaleidoscopic mystery to unveil.

The team are also behind such bangers as Quantum Break and Max Payne, if their credentials were anything to sniff at - but their most beloved title by a country mile has to be Alan Wake.

the action-adventure thriller title is a cult classic through and through, leaving you with little more than a flashlight to uncover the mystery of the titular character's missing wife in the mysterious Bright Falls. The Xbox 360 gem is beloved by many - and it's been high on the remaster wishlist for many players for some time now.

Well, for those of you crossing your fingers for a remaster - we've got good news.

The Alan Wake Remaster Has Finally Been Announced

Alan Wake Remaster Coming This Autumn

After leaks from the backend of Epic Games Store alluded to a remastered version of Alan Wake, the game has now been officially announced by Sam Lake, creative director of Remedy Games.

The announcement was made in an emotional tweet, which sees Lake say "We can't thank you enough for the love and support you've shown #AlanWake these 11 years... but I can try."

The game's announcement has come with an attached letter from Lake, who pours his heart out to the dedicated fans of the game. "This is for you", he says. "Alan Wake came out over 11 years ago, and through that time, you have told us again and again how much you love the game, the story, the characters and the lore. And that matters a lot to us. We love this game as well. I love this game. The remaster is coming because of your support for Alan Wake over the years."

The remaster seems to be a true labour of love (from developers and fans alike), which is deeply refreshing. For a development team of Remedy's size and stature, it's wonderful to see how much the people working on our favourite games truly love it.

Plus, as if the announcement wasn't good enough by itself, we know when the remaster is coming - and it'll be available on more consoles this time around too.

The Alan Wake Remaster Is Coming this Autumn

"Alan Wake remastered will launch this fall", says Lake in his blog post. This isn't long at all, so it's clear that the team at Remedy have been labouring over this remaster for some time.

Plus, Lake reveals that it won't just be a remaster for the original crowd who played the game on the Xbox 360. "The original game was only available for box 360 and, a few years later, PC. We are thrilled about the opportunity to bring the remastered version out for a new generation of platforms."

The beginning of the blog post suggests new partnerships "on the Epic Games Store, [with] Xbox, and for the first time ever, PlayStation", so it's safe to assume that you PlayStation users will finally get the chance to give the thriller title a spin.

We can't wait to get our hands on the Alan Wake remaster, and we're genuinely delighted that this announcement was made through the earnest lens of Sam Lake. It's so clear that Remedy love their Alan Wake remaster - and we're betting that we will too.
