In a surprise announcement, it has been revealed that a Nintendo Direct conference has been scheduled for tomorrow (September 23).

The Direct news has come out of the blue, as rumours of a brand new Nintendo Switch controller have begun to circle online.

The Direct was announced by Nintendo just moments ago - on its official Twitter account. The September Direct will include "40 minutes of information focused mainly on Nintendo Switch games launching this winter."

The conference will take place at 23:00 BST tomorrow, but at the time of writing, Nintendo is yet to reveal what's on the cards. 40 minutes is quite a long time to fill, and with major titles like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 just around the corner, there's plenty to be excited about.

Elsewhere, Nintendo continues to grow its impressive catalogue of first-party games, so we're almost sure to get updates to some old favourites. The September Nintendo Direct also sounds like the perfect time to show off the upcoming Switch OLED. Who knows - maybe the final Smash Bros. Ultimate fighter is about to be revealed?
