Midas remains one of the most popular characters in Fortnite history, so naturally, fans are eager to see him make his grand return - and there's not long to wait!

Ever since his debut in Fortnite Chapter 2: Season 2, the Midas skin has become a coveted outfit for loopers around the world. There have been a few variants of the skins since then, and now there's another one to add to the collection as Ascendant Midas escapes captivity.

When does Midas return?

The new Ascendant Midas skin will be available in the Fortnite item shop on March 26, 2024. This ties in with the Rise of Midas event that's running in the current season, where the character has escaped Hades' prison.

This is the first Midas variant that's been released since his Golden Gear outfit back in Chapter 3: Season 4. Most of these skins haven't returned to the shop, so if you've been waiting for a Midas outfit, now's your time!

How to get the Midas skin in Fortnite

The main way to get the new Ascendant Midas skin is to purchase it from the in-game item shop. A price hasn't been revealed yet, but expect it to cost somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 V-Bucks for the skin.

There will also be matching cosmetics available to buy: the Golden King's Cape Back Bling, the Golden Touch Pickaxe, and the Golden Ascension Wrap. Midas will also have a Shade style.

It will also be possible to earn the Ascendant Midas skin by competing in the Solo Rise of Midas Cup on March 24, 2024. The top performers in each region will be rewarded with the outfit for free!

You can find more information about this cup and the rules here. If you'd rather not pay for the skin and you don't fancy your chances in the cup, you can still earn some free cosmetics via the Rise of Midas quests.
