The best Diablo 2 Resurrected classes are subjective depending on your playstyle but if you're brand new to the game, we've got the best options for newbies. The class you choose will define your overall playstyle and each character type has differing abilities and skills. These define the way you tackle enemies and ultimately play out Diablo 2 Resurrected. All of the class types have their positives and negatives, but each one can offer a variety of different methods when it comes to tackling the demons that are thrown at you throughout your journey. This is all you need to know about the best Diablo 2 Resurrected classes.

These are the seven classes available to you:

  • Amazon
  • Assassin
  • Barbarian
  • Druid
  • Necromancer
  • Paladin
  • Sorceress

Each class will also have a unique set of equipment that only they can access. This loot can be stored and passed onto any new characters you start. With that in mind, the question now is which character is the best to choose?

Best Diablo 2 Resurrected Classes: Barbarian

The Barbarian is a strong contender to being the outright best class in the game, let alone just for newbies. You instantly gain the ability to smash through large hordes of enemies which will greatly help you early on as mobbing is a common occurrence with your lower level weapons. The main reason the Barbarian is a strong choice is the ease at which you can use the character; it only ever really becomes complicated to utilise them in the latter parts of the game, when you'll be focusing on if you want to do more single hit damage or improving DPS. Whichever branch you do choose to expand, the Barbarian still dominates its enemies.

Another strong positive about the Barbarian is the dual-wield ability. This massively increases the damage capacity the Barbarian has and when combined with war cries, it makes the Barbarian into an unstoppable machine. The high attacking ability can be utilised even more when you expand your repertoire of shouts. Latter stage shouts allow you to reduce enemy defence, slow their attack, and focus entirely on you - letting you destroy them without letting them retreat to heal or call in reinforcements.

It would be wise to focus all your early attention on specialising and growing one specific weapon type. Focusing all your efforts onto one weapon type early doors will greatly benefit your progress through to around the mid-to-late stage of the game. Weapons of certain types are quite readily available to the player so there’s no need to worry you will ever be without.

Best Diablo 2 Resurrected Classes: Sorceress

If close-range combat is not your thing, the Sorceress is your best shot. You can easily focus on a single element for your attacks (fire, ice or lighting) and you can keep your distance from the foes trying to eliminate you. Focusing on abilities such as freeze is a great way of tackling enemies from a distance while allowing you to manage your mana effectively.

The Sorceress also has access to a range of skills such as shield boosts, summoning allies to help during battles and can even teleport themselves and their allies out of troubling situations. Each build and skill tree you go for will always have several benefits and opportunities for you to expand into an all-powerful warrior, so the Sorceress is certainly a strong choice for anyone seeking a warrior focused on distance attacks.
