The Yao Guai are some of the many mutated creatures in Fallout 76 that are often associated with daily and weekly quests to earn Scores to level up the free battle pass. Since the game doesn't tell you where to find them, and the cost attached to travelling around POIs, it helps to know the locations of Yao Guai spawns in Fallout 76.

Below, I'll share some locations where I've always found I can find Yao Guai in Fallout 76.

Where to find Yao Guai

In Fallout 76, you can find Yao Guai in locations such as:

  • Dolly Sods Wilderness
  • Dolly Sods Campground
  • Site Alpha
  • The Whitespring Resort
  • Pumpkin House
  • Seneca Rocks Visitors Center

Here are a few more details on each location:

Site Alpha

Teleport to Site Alpha and make your way towards the lake. There, you will find the Yao Guai. If you don't, it means someone on the server has already killed it. So, keep performing a server hop to spawn it in Site Alpha.

Dolly Sods Wilderness and Campground

The Dolly Sods Wilderness area has two guaranteed Yao Guai spawns, making it one of the best areas for completing the daily and weekly quests associated with Yao Guai.

You can find the first Yao Guai on the main road near the building and the other one behind it en route to the Dolly Sods Campground Workshop. That being said, there are cases when Yao Guai spawns in the Workshop based on RNG, so check it, too, as it is nearby and will take a little time.

Seneca Rocks Visitor Center

The Seneca Rocks Visitor Center is one of the best locations for finding creatures like Yao Guai. However, the only catch is that the spawn depends on RNG, so you may have to server-hop a lot before the Yao Guai spawns instead of any other creature.

Philippi Battlefield Cemetery

The parking lot behind the Philippi Battlefield Cemetery is another excellent spot to find Yao Guai. The spawn is guaranteed, but as I said earlier, you will have to server-hop if someone has already killed it.

East Ridge Lookout

You can find one to two Yao Guai at the North Mountain Lookout location. While most players don't know about it, I have always used the area to complete Yao Guai-related tasks.

Other Yao Guai locations

Apart from the above locations, you can also find Yao Guai in Fallout 76 at:

  • Two on the railway line downhill of Mountainside Bed & Breakfast
  • A guaranteed spawn at the Monongah Overlook
  • Random spawn at the Beckwith and Garinger Farm
  • Random spawn at the Pumpkin House
  • The Whitespring Resort, especially inside the cave at The Whitespring Golf Club

That sums up our guide on Fallout 76 Yao Guai locations. While you are here, make sure to check out our other guides, such as the best locations for your C.A.M.P.
