Two years down the line and the most infuriating thing in Call of Duty: Warzone still persists. The Gas Mask animation has plagued the battle royale game for far too long, choking players out of kills and hard-earned wins.

The automatic animation is sometimes unavoidable and come the final instances of a game, it can almost inevitably result in death. Taking both hands off your gun to remove or apply the gas mask leaves players helpless mid-fight, and you'd be lying if you hadn't fallen folly to this at least once.

But, no more. No more dying to the random gas mask animation. No more excuses. No more outrage as you've been gunned down with a hand over your face. The automatic gas mask animation can now be removed, and it's up to you whether you want it.

You Can Soon Turn The Automatic Gas Mask Animation Off In Warzone

Some Warzone players might already be somewhat comfortable with workarounds on the gas mask animation. Heartbeat sensors and applying armour plates already rid players of the animation, but the problem of not being able to shoot still persists. Now, you will be able to actively ditch the mechanic with a manual toggle.

As part of the Season 4 mid-season update, Raven Software accidentally sneaked in a secret setting that 'allows' players to toggle whether they want the gas mask to come on automatically or manually.

However, the setting doesn't actually work. Yet.

Gas Mask Toggle Feature Coming In Warzone Season 5

Despite the setting being added, players quickly found out that it was one final troll by the developers, as it doesn't work.

Raven Software Senior Creative Designer Ted Timmins took to social media to discuss the oopsie, admitting that the feature is coming in Season 5, and they didn't mean to implement the toggle in the latest update.

Timmins also revealed that more like-minded features might be coming in this upcoming Warzone season following calls with a bunch of top content creators from around the globe.

Whether this is going to be another trial run for Warzone 2, just like the ranked mode in Season 5 will be, is yet to be seen.

All that is important though is that by the time Season 5 rolls around, you've only got yourself to blame if you get stung by the gas mask animation.
