Christmas has been and gone, but that doesn't mean the presents are being stored away for another 12 months.

It appears that the elves in Infinity Ward's workshop are looking to bring as much joy as possible to players in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.

Since the addition of Shoot House and Shipment to Modern Warfare 2, players have been casting their minds back to three years ago when the two maps combined into the beloved Shoot the Ship playlist.

With Season 2 beckoning and both Shipment and Shoot House trading places in their own exclusive playlists, fans have voted for Shoot the Ship as their favourite mode to date - hoping it'll arrive in Season 2.

Fans Want Shoot The Ship In Modern Warfare 2

Infinity Ward is cooking up quite the storm for Season 2, and has now taken to social media to see exactly what the fans want.

With Shoot House, Shipment, or the combined Shoot the Ship options to choose from, Modern Warfare 2 fans have been unanimous in their decision that they prefer the massive medley rather than the two individuals.

Surprisingly, Shoot House was far behind in the voting, with gamers clearly preferring Shipment to the mid-season addition, but not as much as a combined playlist.

Infinity Ward Tease Shoot The Ship For Season 2

Having had both maps in rotation for a while now, the discussion around Infinity Ward's golden children has now sparked expectations the devs will finally add Shoot the Ship to Modern Warfare 2 in the coming weeks.

Other players have called for the entire selection to be scrapped. Instead, content creators like "XclusiveAce" have voiced their opinion that Shoot the Ship should be discarded and the developer's priorities should focus on adding more 6v6 maps - rather than the same two from years ago and beyond.

Modern Warfare 2 Season 2 is already bringing back one map into the 6v6 fold, with Castle being remastered, but it's not clear how many new designs we'll see...if any.

At least you'll be able to complete gun challenges with ease in Shoot the Ship.
