It's easy to see why The Pokemon Company has long been one of the strongest in the gaming industry. The Pokemon franchise has transcended its origins, revolutionising the way its games are played and stretching out into trading cards, merchandise, events, movies, and more.

You're never far from a Pikachu appearing somewhere in the world, and it's this that has brought Nintendo's biggest hitter to the big leagues. The Pokemon Company intends to go bigger, as after recently revealing a new subsidiary company, it has another one to offer.

We don’t know what this means, but we see the words "Pokemon" and "Card" together, so that's got to count for something. The Pokemon Company has revealed that another smaller company, Pokemon Card D Studio LTD, has joined its ranks.

It's co-funded by The Pokemon Company and DeNA Co, and it stands as a renamed version of the dev team DeNA Digital Production Co. The team at DeNA has already been working with Pokemon on digital games with its production of Pokemon Masters EX, so the partnership will tie into this even further.

The newly renamed company will be assigned to work on Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, the hotly anticipated upcoming trading card game for mobile.

It remains to be seen how much of a hand the company will have in creating Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket, but given how popular the game could be, it’s certainly wise for The Pokemon Company to have all hands on deck. Brace for impact because this game could be big.
