Not all of us Warzone players are lone rangers, and often players quite like the comfort of a friend in duos or the many voices of a full quad echoing through party chat.

But if you have favourite maps that you and your buddies enjoy, it looks like the end is nigh for your friendship, at least for a short period, as Warzone is putting a stop to hanging out in your favourite locations.

Warzone set to alternate squad-based resurgence maps and modes

Whether you're a Vondel Zoo drop, a Tsuki Castle looter, or a Fortune's Keep outskirts long-game squad, at some point in the next month, your chances of squadding up on each Resurgence map are being stripped away.

The latest Warzone playlist reveal has confirmed that the plethora of Resurgence maps will be rotating each week so that only one map will be playable in each of the squad-size queues.

For example, week one will include Fortune's Keep solos, Urzikstan POI duos, Vondel trios, and Ashika Islands quads. So if your usual trio has been diving into Fortune's Keep week after week since its release, your only option will be to break up the band and become a solo artist or move over to Vondel.

Warzone players lament new map rotations

Following the news, players have taken to both Twitter and Reddit to slam the decision to rotate the maps and modes so heavily.

"Why introduce Fortune's Keep then make it solos only [two] weeks later? Just keep it how it is. Get Urzikstan POI out of there and give Fortune's Keep trios/quads," the Reddit poster said.

"You have got to be f**king me," added another player on the Reddit thread. "Guess I’m not playing Duos this week. Urzikatan POI is terrible and legit the worst map for resurgence."

A third fan echoed this, saying, "All I want to do is play Fortune's Keep with my friends."

Warzone developers Raven Software has defended its decision to keep this rotation though, citing that this is more of a test for future reference, as they aim to collect as much data as possible to put towards future playlist rotations.

Still, it looks like it might be quite a lonely March for some Warzone fans unless you really do knuckle down and put some effort into learning each and every map.
