Having implemented one of the greatest personal brands in esports history and stamped a legacy into Call of Duty that shaped the entire competitive scene as we know it, Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag has fired some hounding criticism at the current CDL Most Valuable Player, who is "damaging his legacy".

Nadeshot, who was paramount in the influence that OpTic Gaming had on the Call of Duty scene before launching his own successful organisation in 100 Thieves, took to an LA Thieves podcast to offer the reigning world champion some "unsolicited advice" on the impact that his social media interactions have on the overall Call of Duty esports scene.

NADESHOT ADVISES SIMP TO STOP PLAYING 'THE VILLAIN ROLE'

After revealing that a pre-CDL franchised 100 Thieves roster could have signed Chris "Simp" Lehr, Nadeshot continued to admit that despite the love for his "undeniable raw talent", the MVP should stop "clapping back" in social media wars and playing "the villain role".

The advice comes after Simp engaged in a rowdy Twitter argument with LA Thieves' Zack "Drazah" Jordan over the Gentleman's Agreement, in a fashion often seen by the 'villains' of the scene such as the recently retired pair of Christopher "Parasite" Duarte and Patrick "Aches" Price.

With Simp seemingly filling the villain void left by the two long-standing professionals, Nadeshot said, "I'm not trying to preach and tell Simp what to do, but I'm going to land some unsolicited advice.

"Simp, you are too talented and too good at the game and the impact that you have on this competitive community in these two short years has been so incredibly massive. Whatever you're doing on socials, trying to play this villain role and clapping back at individuals, I'm telling you, long-run for your career put a smile on, keep pushing, and stay positive.

"That sounds cliche but you can take your shots when the opportunity arises in the right moment, but it has to be tasteful and there has to be humility behind it. I just think you're doing yourself, and the amount of skill you have in those thumbs and that head of yours, an incredible disservice to your legacy."

Is Simp The New CDL Villain?

LA Thieves and Atlanta FaZe are set to go up against each other in the third round of games of the CDL Stage 1 Group Stage, although, the rivalry between the two colossal orgs has been ramped up after Simp lashed out at both Drazah and Kenny "Kenny" Williams.

The fierce rivals butted heads on social media after Simp claimed that the Thieves deserved their Kickoff Classic loss against Toronto Ultra despite a heroic 3v1 Search and Destroy clutch by Drazah in the opening round. Having used a smoke grenade - an ongoing saga within the Call of Duty esports community after the pros banned, and unbanned, snipers - Simp took to Twitter to collide with Thieves' roster.

The exchange soon got heated, leading in Simp uncharacteristically boasting that he "sh*t you and Draz and everyone else in the league last year," to which Kenny branded him as a "fake villain".

The Twitter fireworks will likely add a little bit of spice going into their group stage fixture, where we will see if Simp will strap on his devil's advocate horns or let his skills do the talking.
