We might've thought it was dead and buried, but like its namesake mode, Zombies could be set for quite an almighty resurrection. Most have rubbished Modern Warfare 3's Zombies and have paid respects to the dead mode in anticipation of the real Zombies experience in the next game.

However, a recent trailer for a weapon bundle has Zombies fans perplexed, hinting that MW3 is set for a PvP update.

New Call of Duty Endowment bundle has Zombies fans confused

As part of the latest Call of Duty Endowment bundle (a partnership which dedicates sales funds from in-game purchases to military veterans), a trailer was released that depicted the new Knight Recon operator and two swanky and sleek blueprints in action.

The trailer was played out in Urzikstan, where it showcased some more military-savvy techniques, such as the use of drones and prone crawling.

But the real eyebrow raiser was the fact that this setting wasn't the Warzone Urzikstan variant, but rather that of Modern Warfare 3 Zombies.

Fans can clearly see the duller aether-injected skyline of Zombies, which begs the question, why are Operators fighting against each other on this map?

Is PvP coming to MW3 Zombies?

As pointed out by Detonated on Twitter, the most viable answer would be PvP Zombies. This was rumoured back when the map first launched, and multiple teams of players were found to be fighting the undead together, but nothing more was ever released.

This could also elude to Warzone Urzikstan getting a Rebirth Island-like weather/day cycle, where night falls over the map. Maybe this dark blue look is Urzikstan's evening wear.

Or, it could just be a string of assets tied together to make a cool video. Knowing Call of Duty and its Easter egg game, this could easily be a hint at some Season 4 content, but with Treyarch's Zombies-heavy title just around the corner, some more undead action might not be on the top of the priority list.
