School could be out for the summer, as the team behind Hogwarts Legacy have clarified whether a DLC is on the way to the Wizarding World. Sorry gang, there might not be a Triwizard Tournament.

After more delays than Voldemort has Horcruxes, the open-world Harry Potter game finally took flight on its broomstick in 2023 and has quickly become one of the year's biggest titles. As Hogwarts Legacy stakes its claim as a GOTY contender, fans are rightly asking whether a DLC is on the way.

Speaking during IGN Fan Fest, Hogwarts Legacy Game Director Alan Tew revealed whether a DLC is on the way. Sorry to break it to you, but it doesn't look like there is.

"We've been really heads down bringing [Hogwarts Legacy] to life," admitted Tew, "So at the moment there are no current plans for DLC." It's disappointing for those who've been imagining a proper trip to Azkaban or the Ministry of Magic, but all is not lost.

While Tew claims there's nothing in the pipeline right now, that doesn't mean there won't be. It's not like Avalanche is giving up on Hogwarts Legacy, with a beefy patch already addressing bugs and performance issues.

It makes sense for Warner Bros. to milk Hogwarts Legacy for every galleon, and let's remember, there's still no Elden Ring DLC over a year after FromSoftware launched the fantasy epic. As Hogwarts Legacy was hit with multiple delays and controversies, we're happy to wait and ensure the team can nail a DLC.

Could The Hogwarts Legacy DLC Bring Quidditch To The Game?

If we eventually get a Hogwarts Legacy DLC, the seeds are already there for a Quidditch-themed expansion. A throwaway line confirmed Headmaster Black has temporarily banned the fan-favourite sport due to an unfortunate injury the year before.

There's also the idea of adding a multiplayer element to make Duelling Club more interesting, or what about a Sims-themed expansion that lets you bring pets into the school? To be honest, we'd like to be able to visit the sinister Knockturn Alley.

As well as Hogwarts Legacy trending before it even released, the game broke records upon launch to claim the biggest European release outside of FIFA and Call of Duty since Red Dead Redemption 2. It was also the biggest UK launch of any Harry Potter game.

These impressive sales mean we'd be surprised if a sequel wasn't already being talked about, but in the meantime, a slew of Hogwarts Legacy DLCs will keep the money flowing into Gringotts. For now, we're off to the Room of Requirement to wish for one.
