The ALGS Year 3 Championship has officially kicked off and the best Apex Legends players from around the world have come together once again to compete for the crown.

With $2 million on the line in prize money, it's always interesting to see how the meta develops throughout the event and which weapons are being used the most.

While comp and standard matches play out very differently, it's still useful to take inspiration from the most skilled competitors across the globe, especially when it comes to the guns they pick.

Well, there's one rifle that's been making a huge splash at ALGS Champs so far, absolutely dominating the long-range meta and stat charts.

There's still a massive amount of matches to play at the Year 3 ALGS Champs, but the 30-30 Repeater rifle is already making its mark on the event.

It's, without a doubt, the premium long-range option, with countless Apex pros using it to chunk enemy shields and health bars from afar.

According to Apex Legends Status, the 30-30 has done 142,799 damage as of day 2 of Champs, putting at the number one spot for overall output. It's also number one for cumulative playtime, reaching an impressive 35 hours so far, and the event has only just begun.

Ultimately, the 30-30 excels at dealing consistent damage from long-range, allowing you to make a dent in your opponents' resources. This is an extremely useful tool in Ranked, where forcing a foe to use a Shield Battery can be the perfect setup for an aggressive push.

Now you know the pros love the 30-30 Repeater, and you're ready to sharpen your skills with the rifle in the Firing Range, what gun should you pair it with?

This all comes down to preference at the end of the day, so make sure to use a gun that you're comfortable with, but also thrives at close range.

If you want to maximise your power and pick a meta option, then the R99, Peacekeeper, CAR SMG, Volt, or Alternator with Disruptor Rounds are all top-tier.

So, if your performance is lagging in Ranked and you want to elevate your play, consider copying the pros and making use of the 30-30. You won't regret it.
